Casa Mate BeachFront Cabañas El Cuyo

I accidentally discovered this quiant treasure when looking for a shady spot to hang at the beach. Casa Mate is actually a hotel with a restaurant and while I cannot speak for the hotel accomodations, I can say their restaurant knocked my socks off! We were offered beach front shaded lounge chairs with the caveat of spending 300 pesos per person. Their cocktails were splendid. I personally enjoyed a rum and coke to go with the rib-eye steak and fries. I know! Who orders ribeye on the beach in Mexico?! Well, it just sounded good, and I knew that I was taking a risk. Let me tell you; The ribeye was cooked to juicy PERFECTION! WHAT??? It was prepped slightly past medium rare per my request, and that was exactly what I was served! It was flavorful and the fries were actually wedges, perfectly and cleanly crisped. I was blown away. We also ordered fish ceviche that was fresh, beautifully presented and promptly devoured by people in our party.

The perfect Beach Getaway, family friendly, petfriendly, peaceful and beautiful beach access, and lots of space! The rooms are simple but comfy! The staff was very nice, room was cleaned every day, and restaurant is super good quality…great breakfasts! We will come back!

Casa Mate is located right on the beach in El Cuyo. All the guests have direct access to the beach. The rooms are generally well appointed with most basic amenities for a comfortable stay. The staff is very friendly. We had a very comfortable stay in the ground floor apartment, which had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and a huge living area. We would highly recommend Casa Mate.

We had an amazing stay. The views were incredible, the food and service excellent, and the beach access and coziness factor were unbeatable. The boho beach vibe was a great fit for us, with everything we needed to not leave the area. They have food and drinks on site that were plenty delicious making it unnecessary to leave and giving us more time to enjoy the beach. This will definitely be our go to place for relaxing beach area.

Recently visited El Cuyo for a yoga retreat. Lunch on the retreat was on our own, and we choose to eat here for most of our lunch meals. The food is delicious and the staff/owners are excellent hosts. Highly recommend- and we will definitely return to El Cuyo to stay and eat here

I love the location of the hotel. Waking up and having the ocean right there is incredible . The breakfast was ok but the guacamole, club sandwich and the shrimp tacos were really good. The room is comfy but we were 3 adults traveling and only had one king size bed and one small bed (for a kid). The staff is attentive and friendly which always makes a big difference everywhere and we highly appreciate it. Wifi was a little bit weak, which we didn’t care much about, but I’m not sure is a problem that the hotel has but the town itself (my assumption for how the electricity works here). I’d for sure come back as the price matches the quality of the service

Just as every other review says the location of this hotel is ideal. The hotel has sun lounge chairs and hammocks on what feels likes a private pristine beach. Staff is also very lovely ! Stars lost for the air conditioner as it barely cooled the space and we were sweating bullets all night. And the variety of vego foods was minimal and very basic.

The best place to stay in Mexico! We had a beautiful stay. Right on the ocean. Extremely friendly owner, perfect restaurant. We simply loved it. We can only highly recommend it!!!! This is extraordinary. Way better than Cancun or any other place.
